Hotel in Madrid.

Evening everyone.

I would appreciate it if you could recommend me some hotels in Madrid.
We are going for a five day break and have managed to get tickets to see Green Day.
Hopefully, we will also get hold of some Real v Tenerife tickets too.

Could you recommend me some hotels which are in the centre of Madrid. Nothing flash is required. Sleeping and showering is all that we will be doing.
Clean and secure 3 star will be fine.

Thank you.

Re: Hotel in Madrid.

I´ve only stayed at the Westin Palace which is very plush but not really what you are looking for - Tripadvisor is a good place to get reviews

Re: Hotel in Madrid.

Sometimes stay at the Hotel Francisco when I travel over.

Its a fairly basic hotel and reasonably priced, and they seem to be able to get tickets for Madrid games too, although at a slight premium of course.

Its around the Sol district, so plenty of late bars.

Re: Hotel in Madrid.

Madrid is one of my favourite cities and I've been five times over the past eight years.

I always stay at The Hotel Preciados which is right in the heart of the centre just off the Gran Via and adjacent to all the shops.

It's four star and business orientated but not mega expensive compared to the really large hotels in Madrid.

The rooms all have double glazing and with the windows closed and the aircon turned on the rooms are cool enough to sleep but also silent. Buffet breakfast is good and there is a restaurant should you wish to dine in.

Check out the reviews of the place on Trip Advisor.

Re: Hotel in Madrid.

Also check out Hotel Regina.

Again fairly central to the Sol district - a much larger hotel than the Francisco.

Re: Hotel in Madrid.

I stayed in the Hotel Petit Palace Londres - 3* - Madrid when I went to Madrid to see Real Madrid v Juventus in the CL in November.

Right in the middle of town, metro opposite the hotel and down some steps. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, it was perfect especially considering 2 rooms for 2 nights was £300 on lastminute

Thats the last Madrid game I was at !!

Jez, how bad were Madrid that night. So bad that Del Piero (finished about 5 yrs ago) outclassed everyone and got a standing ovation.

Yeah they were terrible, it really hit me just how much of a void there has been since the galacticos had moved on. Absolutely no pace and Royston Drenthe was the worse player I havd ever seen

Great experience though, we did the stadium tour the day after as well. I'm going back this November as well, just waiting for the champions league fixtures

Not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I went to Madrid a couple of years ago and we stayed at the Cat's Hostel.

I know many people take a dim view of Hostels, but is was very clean, really nice decor, decent security, clean bathrooms, etc. And great value for money! It also had a cracking bar!

I would really recommend it!

Cat's Hostel

Haha no. We had a great time. Not just the football but the city as a whole was really good. Had some great times exploring the city and got absolutely smashed in a couple of tapas bars
