How do you spell wierd/weird ? Just wondering if I'm the only one who didn't know how to spell it!

I've heard it said that teachers can't mark kids down for using txt spk in their work nowdays, is this true?

I don't necessarily mean in an English Language exam, but say an essay answer in a history exam, you can't mark the student down for using txt spk?
