Restaurant closed for re-imaging

Was the sign stuck on the fencing surrounded the local McDonalds site that has recently been closed for rebuilding.

It amused me anyway

I've never seen another McDonalds with these chairs, not that I frequent them often.

It all looks new, and pretty funky. There are some long benches in there which sit 10+ people.

So I would assume these is part of their new image.

I couldn't find a guildford specific photo if that's what you mean, apart from

Its funny about the green thing. The Burger King in Guildford Ladymead has also gone green and brown suedette booths.

I preferred it with the old 50's look when they had the booths, jukeboxes and pinball machine. Was like a Happy Days episode

Re: Restaurant closed for re-imaging

The re-imaging is to make them more coffee shop than burger bar, presumably to cash in on the Starbucks market. Hence the comfy chairs, wireless access points etc. They intend to re-image half their outlets by the end of the year.

Re: Restaurant closed for re-imaging

I saw a dentist the other day which advertised among its services, on it sign outside: "Additions to missing teeth".

You can just about force it to mean what they intended, but man, it's hard

Re: Restaurant closed for re-imaging

McDonalds are, apparently, also growing customers faster than their competitors... and are growing them faster in re-imaged outlets than traditional ones

Re: Restaurant closed for re-imaging

Didn't they "re-image" Wimpey a few years back? Let's hope the same thing happens to McDonald's!
