Wallmounted plasma bigger than fireplace?

Evening all!

I was wondering if anyone has any photos of a wallmounted plasma that is bigger than their fireplace?

I'm thinking of putting an electric fireplace below our newly mounted 60" plasma, the problem is most "modern" fireplaces, which will fit in our room, will be smaller than the plasma.... I can't really imagine what this will look like as 99% of the photos i've seen the fireplace is bigger than the plasma...

Anyone got any photos they could share or done this themselves??

Thanks!!!

p.s not sure if this should go here or plasma or somewhere else....

Re: Wallmounted plasma bigger than fireplace?

Maybe you should extend the surrond left and right with a false wall. I'd suggest just shelving left and right but I don't think that would look right.

Re: Wallmounted plasma bigger than fireplace?

You could take a photo of your fireplace, get a photo of a plasma TV and have a play.

Re: Wallmounted plasma bigger than fireplace?

The TV is already up but the fireplace isnt...

I'll take a photo of the tv and photochop a fireplace on I guess but I just dont think it will look right...

The TV is 146cm wide and the widest modern fireplace I can find is 120cm.... not a massive difference!

Re: Wallmounted plasma bigger than fireplace?

do you not get issues from heat since they are so close and well... heat rises...?

Re: Wallmounted plasma bigger than fireplace?

On mine theres a 5" x 2" piece of timber which stops the heat going under the tv.

Re: Wallmounted plasma bigger than fireplace?

Mine's an electric fan heater so the heat's directed into the room.
