i think it was on the computer shop hour,a lady just got talking about the Dazzle video converter when the vista computer started shutting down,then when it finally restarted it went to a black screen saying press any key to start.
it restarted then went to 'installing windows update screen' the lady and presenter were getting a bit fed up with it all but all this took about 10 mins to do, the item's time was up.

the next item up was norton security using the same computer, it finally started up ok.it was funny when the lady said 'i installed this earlier'.she even said it's not as bloated as it once was.
i knew norton was rubbish.

there's some behavioural reward thing that goes on when you shop, like pavlov's dog's, they get a chemical reward when shopping, it can be addictive

the shopping channels are geared up for this

My mother in law is completely addicted to QVC. She has piles of kitchen appliances and clothes that she has never even worn. My favourite item is a frog brooch she wears - it's made with emerald-coloured stones and is nearly the size of the palm of your hand. Well, maybe not your hand, but definitely a midget's hand. It's the most hideous piece of jewellery I have ever had the misfortune to lay eyes on.

I do agree that the majority of it is utter tat, but my wife gets a certain make-up from there for a lot cheaper than she can get it anywhere else. It's nice stuff, very natural-looking.

The women at work love QVC. Thats all they talk about. From pots, pans to netbooks (after someone recommended the samsung nc10 ). I can honestly say I've never "watched" QVC. Sure I've accidentally flicked to it.

I've watched Ideal World though, now thats a laugh!
