Paypal question

Hi all

This may be a silly question but do you need to add funds to a paypal account before you can buy anything? If the paypal account is a 'zero' balance can I buy something, then credit paypal later or does it not work like that?

I don't think so.
I think you can do something called an 'e-cheque'.
That doesn't require you to have the funds in your paypal account first.
it just takes the money from your nominated account (bank), via paypal, then onto the seller.
It takes ages for the seller to get your payment though.

Re: Paypal question

Yep

If you have a bank account linked onto your paypal account you can just pay people and it will fund them instantly, but take the average amount of time on your end to actually go out the bank

I'm allways doing it and have had no problems

So if a bank account is linked to a paypal account, and the paypal account is a zero balance, you can still purchase via paypal and the money is debited from the current account.....am I understanding that correct?

Re: Paypal question

I thought this at first... so added some funds. But later I realised that you don't need to, it just automatically takes money from your debit card.

Note that if you have funds in there, it will take from there first before going to your card...
