Having to start achievements again??

Hi All, not sure if this has been posted before but here goes.

Ive just moved into a new pad with no tinterweb as yet, and played abit of Horde last night with the missus. My Kill count started from Zero and all of the other achievements too. Why? Are my stats stored on the Live servers? The Missus' kill count was as it was before the move.....I just dont get it

There is some issues with your gears profile information that can become corrupted if you sign profiles onto the console while in the multiplayer lobby for example. Also signing in your TU3 profile onto a earlier version of the game will just dipose of your stats too. If you check out the Epic forums there is quite a few instances of thise happening and they're looking into how they can recover lost data but they say it's almost impossible for them to prevent it due to the vast changes they made from the original profile information on the game.

When I moved home I played offline then as soon as connected back up I lost all my stats but my achievements that I had gained still remained but did not show in the journal. I know how much this this sucks for you but I lost 25,000 kills and now I have them back it didn't take long but I know how upsetting it is.

Yes, happened to me.

Luckily, the only achievement that i hadnt gotten which got its tracker reset was seriously 2.0

Nothing you can do about it.

Kinda hoping they will all pop back when I reconnect to live, not holding my breath though.

Is there actually an explanation of why it happens?

It may be caused by playing on a console without TU3.

Or it could be because you quit the game at a data saving period. The game saves your data at regular intervals so signing out for example mid-loading might corrupt it. EPIC said they're still "tracking" the root of the war journal reset. The trackers and rank in this game are stored in your hard drive, not server side.

Mine happened before TU2 I think it just doesn't like being offline so when you reconnect it causes a glitch which resets the achievements. Also Epic realy should of updated the journal to show the new achievements properly

So yea

level 40 now a 1

what happen got the e-74 bug so i went and got my sisters xbox hooked it up

had to install the game to the harddrive again which alone is kind of funny.
played a few games and next thing the playlist was coming up as the old ones in mutiplayer. when i went to the main menu it popped up sayin unlocked player. went back into mutiplayer level 1!

I think this has something to do with the update on the game being set for the system it was download onto 1st

HARD DRIVE TU3 + xbox = fine
HARD DRIVE TU3 + new xbox = broke
HARD DRIVE + install TU3 on new xbox = fine

I would really like my rank back and my 15,000 kills back because its a pain when you dont cheat and get cheated by the game.

not happy at all there really should of been a system which tracked EX after the TU3 so no one could cheat never mind the fact the game has cheated me >.<

going to find someone who will let me copy there rank >.< dam you epic

Extremely unfortunate and sad to hear.

Im a rank 35 at the moment and intend to back up my rank to another account. Its easy to do, so by all means seeing as though the game is completely at fault, I encourage you to reglitch to 40. I already had my war journal reset so im not gonna risk it.

got a level 39 profile from a mate

i may have got my rank still lost my s 2.0 15,000 kills

just dont play on a didnt system with your harddrive without re-downloading the update.

but yea back your profile up as well on a free account

Im currently level 38 and geting nervous having previously lot all my data so I was wondering how do you back up your rank to another account. Sorry if im being thick here.

people use it to cheat and copy a level 100 account.

if you look on youtube you will find it..... it can be used to back your account up...... it dont copy your stats just rank and kills

Cheers I really wouldn't be happy if I lost my exp as it will be a big enough pain to get to level 100 as it is.

Hi All,

Just to let you know I was having trouble with Live running slow last night, Gears 2 kept locking up in the menu's etc...

I tried it again this morning and my online rank has gone back to 1, lost all my unlocked characters, game doesn't register that I completed it but I still have my acheivements... but War Journal reset

Not Happy!!

So once it's gone it's gone?...
