Right what's the deal with gears 1, do you guys still play it?

I've missed the banter and am close to picking up a cheap 360 and a copy of gears

So you know who you all are let me know the deal.

I think its making a mini revival with a select few as there is all else to play i play this online and fifa thats it at the mo just sold my copy fo mw2 again

Jay its not what it used to be like mate at the mo but this last week or two i have been playing it quite a bit.

I've only just realised nVIDIA is Jay, wondered where you'd got to mate

As always still think old school Gears is the best online game yet, you should defiantely get the BF:BC2 demo downloaded while it's still live though as that's pretty damn good!

Oh and great games the other night fellas, look forward to the next ones.

i just assumed it was him when he mentioned picking up a 360
my bro in law has my gears disc so i couldnt join, probably would've given it a miss anyway, trying to finish mass effect 2 before our lass goes into labour

Or you could do what I do Jay, play a decent game but join the party chat, you get to play a game you want and don't miss out on the riveting chat

My youngest is 11 months old now and I've just started playing regularly again! Funnily enough my 3 year old has just discovered Lego Indy - he doesn't know exactly what to do - he just runs around hitting things and collecting coins - much like me and Gears but with less hitting...........

I was playing Far Cry 2 the other night I'll have you know. Must admit, had a few games of MW2 this evening and really couldn't get into it. Is the love wearing off now? I think I'm gonna download the rest of the fallout 3 dlc and hit that soon. Far Cry has given me the taste for the wastelands again

not me, i played execution from the start, only times i played warzone was in the tournys we had or to get the ranked pistol kills, in fact it was my idea to have the 5 second rule on execution because any longer made it like warzone.

It was definately warzone in the beginning, or was it all the seperate lobbies back in the day that had us playing different modes(ah, gone are the days of 2-3 full gears lobbies every night)?

Certainly remember the switch over to Execution after the majority of us got sick of Warzone and the host lancer(not to mention the distant battles became boring and way less fun than close up shotty battles which became our staple diet).

must have been seperate lobbies, i am 100% that i started playing execution from the start, mainly for the reasons u posted.

Had to buy a power supply and harddrive though.

it was just the console and controller.

Had a hdmi cable already.

Psu cost me 25 quid from cash converters, and harddrive 20gb cost me a tenner.
