Does anyone play GOW1?

I've heard a lot about GOW, but I never really took much notice of it.

I picked it up in Gamestation for a fiver yesterday (Bargain!) and started the campaign, which is excellent!
I really like the control system moving from cover to cover, in a way, that's how I play COD.

I've heard that the online is the selling point of the game, but when I tried to enter a match, a lot of the time, I sat in a lobby for 5 minutes, just me and someone else, and never got to play a game!?! Is this a common issue? Is this because no one plays Gears 1 online since 2 was released?

In the end I got bored of waiting and played multiplayer on MW2, but would love to give Gears a proper go!

I still play it as it's better than 2

Cheers for the advice, I've had a go on Campaign, so get the controls to an extent...

I'll add ya, although if i'm on late at night, I prob won't be able to chat much, but at the moment I find every time I try to play online it's putting me in a lobby with just me in...

I'm going into Versus-Xbox live ranked match...

If it's only you in a lobby then you are pressing the host button.

Do a search on say 'Warzone, min 5 rounds and max 10 rounds' and you should get a few lobbies appearing. Prepare to be massacred at first. But stick with it because it's the best online game ever made

Bought GOW2 today too (It was £10 pre-owned for the limited edition, so couldn't resist!)

Not sure whether to give it a go... might play the MP on Gears 2, but complete the first campaign before starting it on the second.

When you search for games make sure you get 3 pips at the end of the map before selecting if you choose a game with 1 red pip you`ll struggle with the lag.

The reason why i said 1vs1 is not only learn the maps but if i can talk you through things for instance when you get shot a red ring appears in front of yoru screen i use that as my aim kind of thing.
Also active reloads are a must in MP hit that reload correct and your shots are more powerfull.
I still love this game as Gazelles says best MP game ever imo also have played it to death though looked at the world rankngs last night havent played it properly for 14 months and still in top 13,000 out of 2.5million players
(Dont like to brag like Its like telling Man utd Fans that we have 5 european cups )

easiest way to learn the maps is to play a local match with a second controller 1v1 and then u can go around the map as u wish.

GOW2 Has the training tutorial for MP at the beginning, so after going through that, I get it a little more, managed to get a couple of kills in MP after that, now it's just a case of getting good at it!

I've sent you a FR Kopchoir.

You do and I've been unfortunate to see you win all 5 of them

Although I have to confess that when you won the first 4 you were indeed a top top team who reguarly won the English league title and deserved to be playing the top teams in Europe. The fifth time you 'won it', most say 'scabbed it' as that is more accurate, you finished 5th in the Premier leauge and were the 2nd best team on Merseydive.

Hey Kop, have you ever seen libpool win the league?

We all can't spend 30 mil on a defender almost 10 years ago mate this happens when you play dick Turpin with your own fans

Yes mate im 28 not 19 you should pop by the sports forums as we have a lot In common both know about footy and can take a little wind up

The fat Spanish waiter's net spend is more than SAF's since he arrived at 'pool. This is lost on most of you lot though and the same line is trotted out day after day about money.

transferleague.co.uk

So you were 8 when you last won the league? I had to wait until I was 27 before I saw United win the league. You lot ruined my youth

Only because you sold ronaldo for 80 mil thats rafas transfer budget for th enext 4 years.

The thing is you grew up in our shadow and to be honest there are only 2 clubs in the league thats worthy of big club status IMO.
what i mean is you creep up with some league trophys and you win a european cup the biggest thing was that you won the treble"have you ever won the trebly have you "
you have 1 up on us but as you are Manchester United Plc and not Manchester United Football Club (as proven on your clyb crest on your shirt these days) you charged your own fans to see you parade this treble and this wasnt the Glazer years either.

Anyway fancy some gears1

Now now. His net spend during his time at 'pool was bigger than Fergies in the same time the year before we sold Ronaldo. Lets not forget the money you got for Alonso too, way over-priced. You know the same Alonso who the fat Spanish waiter wanted to sell and replace with Gareth ****ing Barry Tactical genius

I'm not sure what you are getting at with the PLC? Are you saying this was the fans choice

Manchester United PLC, whatever you may think, were miles ahead of anyone it terms of business nouse. You know the same way that Liverpool and every other 'big' football club thinks and does now. Just because United did it first it is somehow wrong

We grew up in your shadow? Do you mean because you had a successful period before us? So by the same token did you grow up in Evertons, Arsenals and Aston Villas shadow? Not sure what you are getting at?

But you are right about there only being two truly 'big' clubs in England. The fact that one is bigger than the other, and was during your successful years as well, is another thing all together

Yeah, add me on Live for some Gears goodness.
