"I haven't seen anything about it yet, but as of last night Joe modified the firing rate to match the faster Gears 1 rate.
We've talked about a great deal of the points made by the constructive posters in the shotgun mechanics thread and have generally came to a consensus on about 8 things we're interested in improving.
Now, before shotgun lovers change their underwear, I am NOT saying we're committing to those further changes... just that we've had our internal discussions and are in favor of some tweaks. We're in varying states of looking into technical issues, design discussions, and how they could be delivered if they prove out in testing.
The firing rate change is simply one that's an easy change, so it could happen right off the bat, and Joe had it online within hours of our discussions.
Please don't ask us about the specifics of our other hopes yet... if we improve other things you'll hear about it here from Joe, Rod, or I.
We really want to say thanks to the people who've given constructive analysis in the shotty thread, the playlist thread, the tactical event feedback thread, and the polls related to those. You guys provided some great insight.

I haven't tried it yet but the consensus on the Epic forum is that no one can notice any change in ROF.
