It's hard to get a match in GoW1 these days. So many people quit halfway, glitch, etc, I don't blame anyone for boosting.

I got 90% of the GoW achieves legit way back before the first patches (when you actually had to hit people with the boomshot), However, I played mainly player matches, I only have ~5000 ranked kills.

I have no hope of getting the rest legit in the current state of the game. So, I'll happily boost 'Seriously' if I can find the time.

I was thinking more along the lines of 'achievements' being that important to a gamer that they would go to the trouble of 'boosting' to get a number next to their name. Is that gaming? Maybe the definition of being a gamer has changed over the years.

At 38 I haven't classed myself as a lad for a long time.

It's a bit of fun, nothing more. I enjoy the personal challenge of getting achieves in games, the reasonably high score is a consequence of doing it too much.

However, riddle me this. If achievements don't matter to you, may I ask why you have the 'Seriously' gamerpic showing on your gamercard?

I think you may have picked on the wrong one mate

My first visit to Old Trafford was in 1975 when United were in the 2nd Division, it was against Hull City and we won 2-0, I was 9 years old. Went home and away from the age of 15 and I get the impression I might have been to Anfield more times than you

Walking out of the Nou Camp in '99 after having seen us win the treble (something you never did in your 'glory years' ) I decided that my time watching United week in week out was over. That night/season could never be beaten and so now I just go the odd games. So the big question is "How many times have you been to Anfield?"

As far as you 'Korean' jube goes, yeah of course United have a lot of OOT support but so do Liverpool. Are there any scouse accents left in the Kop nowadays?

Nice to see you posting your version of our John O'shea song

I got Seriously through playing Gears ranked matches which in turn gave me that gamerpic. I think it is a cool picture whether it was for seriously or not. I think my gamerscore tells you that achievements do not interest me in the slightest.

Re: Gears 1 Boosting Sessions

From the limited time I've spent on this forum, and in particular on this Gears sub-forum, I was under the impression that this 'kopchoir' lad was up for a bit of banter. He mentions my sig (link below for pic) and I respond in a jokey way and then he responds with a video of locked-in libpool fans at Old Trafford singing (I'm not sure exactly where he thought they could go ) and then I reply to his 'how many times blah blah.....

Have I offended him in anyway? Would any of his mates tell me what I have done wrong because he has vanished out of the thread even though I've seen him viewing it. It just seems a bit odd.

Yeah of course up for a bit of banter didnt see your last post about the oshea i achieved gary nevs dream goal
Thing is i dont really come in the gears threads as much as i used to do with gears2 being shockingly poor and have you offended me no of course not far from it.
Last season at anfield when we won 2-1 with having our two man team on the bench for most of the game i had finished work on the wednesday and the wife picked me up the covnersation went like this
"Love im trying to get a ticket for the big game at the weekend if i cant then ill be in the pub all day with the lads"
"what big game is that"
"You know biggest game of the season"
"Oh you mean manure vs Liverpool well im sorry to disappoint you but im going to the game in the anfield lower end so looks like your babysitting love"
My wife is a man u fan and has been to many european away games
Point is that we achieve your dreams forvever in our shadow you have to win 19 yet matey and until then your still the second most succesfull team in england
FACT
Anyway what you like at gears im pretty handy at that game maybe you should work your jealousy on war machine this friday night with the rest of us

Good to see you replying, I was worried that I'd offended you, glad to hear I haven't. I know how 'banter' is sometimes taken too far particuarly between United and libpool fans.

I'm glad to hear that your missus has more sense than you

Hmm about you achieving our dreams. You lot used to say that with regards the 18 titles, we soon sorted that one out and if you hadn't scabbed that European Cup in 2005 we'd only be 1 behind you in the 'big ears' count. It's amazing - in 2005 you were the best in Europe and yet only 5th best in England and 2nd on Merseydive. European champions

Domestically, United are the most successful English club of all time, 18 titles and 11 FA Cups (you have 7 FA Cups). The charity/community shield and League Cups don't count - mickey mouse reserve team stuff. We have also won the 'proper treble' plus two other League + FA Cup doubles against your solitary double.

It really sounds as if you achieve our dreams

About Gears - I still play occasionally but I can never say what date/time I will be on because I never know. I get slaughtered now though when i do play because it is one of those games where you need to keep your eye in - that's my excuse anyway.
