Despite being cancelled for the Xbox 360 in Japan for "various reasons", Platinum Games' (of Bayonetta fame) action spin-off to the Metal Gear Solid series is still slated for launch on the 360 in Western territories.

Many worried MGS aficionados were speculating that the decision to shelve the game in its native Japan on the console would possibly be the forerunner to bad news about the game’s status on the Microsoft machine in other regions.

However, Konami have since clarified the situation and confirmed that the title will appear on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Europe and the US, being due to launch next February.
