The countdown to zombie-geddon has well and truly begun. If those trails before each episode of The Walking Dead haven’t got you keen to jump into Capcom’s latest survival horror title come October then the gameplay details leaking out may well do the trick.
The much-rumoured inclusion of Ada Wong as a playable character has been confirmed. She’ll get her own story to tell, unlocked once you’ve defeated the main campaign.
A fourth strand to the narrative may be intriguing, and Ada’s proven an enigmatic and popular figure amongst fans, but it doesn’t have as much scope to be ground-breaking as the recently unveiled (Famitsu via
Andriasang) Agent Hunt mode, which looks to turn the tables on the zombie killers.
In this mode - sounding vaguely familiar to Demon's Souls (and its sequel's) player vs player invasion - gamers will be able to leap into someone else’s campaign and operate as one of the undead. It’s again set to be an unlockable feature upon completion of the main story. You’ll be made aware of when someone has chosen to take over an enemy, but won’t be given any further indication of their presence.
With the possibility that two opposing players could be lurking anywhere in a stage, preparing to team up against you, it could add real variety and longevity to the latest in the survival horror series.
