God Of War Collection UK Sale Price and Outlets

Hi guys,

Just wanted to get a thread up and running on where to find the God of War collection for sale in the UK and for the cheapest price. Since it isn't officially being released here most of the stores selling it will probably be online. I've found the following website as the cheapest so far:

Play-Asia.com are selling it at $45 for the US version and $40 for the Asian. That works out at about £25.

Brought many things from them before and they have been excellent. Decent site letting you know exactly what you are getting too.

Get it from eBay.com for about $40 (plus $10 to $15 shipping), just find a seller who ships to the UK.

or from eBay.co.uk for about £36.

Obviously you take the usual chances by using eBay but most sellers are powersellers.

After watching the trailer I don't think I'm even going to bother with it;

Maybe I'm just looking back on the original two games with rose tinted glasses but this doesn't seem to be much of an improvement. I remember GOW1 had some jerk and flicker issues when there was too much going on but GOW2 looks very similar to a SD version of this collection, right?

I was hoping for graphics like GOW3, as I had obviously over-anticipated and forgot that this is only a port of the original games.

I don't think this is going to be worth £40 if you already have the games on PS2.

No, they ship the games to EU countries without a problem. I'm from Ukraine and already bought a few without any troubles. It just takes near 14-15 days to arrive. But I'd better not order anything from Hong Kong at the moment since the HK post suffers from large quantity of parcels and it's a big chance your parcel will be delayed for 2-3 weeks. So I believe the best way is to get it from United States on Ebay. It's just that you will have to wait a week or so for it to arrive.

Ukraine isn't a part of the actual European Union though. Play-Asia specifically won't send Sony stuff to:

European Union nations
Iceland
Liechtenstein
Norway

Sony Europe are to thank for that. PA made the decision in the wake of the Lik-Sang debacle.

If anyone wants this I would recommend just importing it from Videogames+ in Canada. Works out at about £32 with delivery. I've bought loads of PS3 games from them and never had customs charges once. In fact, I've never heard of anyone getting stung when ordering from them!

I've used them before. Excellent service, and they ship from Europe so there's no customs charges to worry about.

Guys,DVDBoxoffice and their parent company Mallvision are terrible companies.I had an order not arrive and CS was useless.Promised to resend item but never did.Seriously would not recommend buying off them.

Axelmusic on the other hand have been superb in my experience.

Axel Music are by far the cheapest for the GOW collection and are really great for delivery and customer service in my experience. I believe they also ship from Jersey.

Why pay more?

Depending on when you ordered it. I placed a order with Movietyme when it was 25.99, although it has since gone up. Axel Music seem to be getting some good references.

Movietyme is now 29.99 and from my experience shipping from them can be s-l-o-w unless you pay an additional £1.99 for the express service. I used to use them (and videogamesplus) all the time until I discovered the cheaper and faster AxelMusic for importing games.

As I don't own either of them on PS2 would you recommend that I buy this collection?

The price on the 2nd post of this thread is showing as £26 which seems reasonable. My main concern is the graphics on the PS3 may be a bit underwelming.

Definitely. GOW1 and 2 were both amazing games, 2 of the best 've ever played, and this collection is an upgraded version of them.

Both story wise and gameplay wise they set up for GOW3 very well, and for £26 for both of them on PS3 I'd absolutely recommend anyone who doesn't own them on PS2 to get this collection.

Just bought this yesterday from Axelmusic, It says it's £26 on the website but there is a shipping charge of almost £2.

In total it's £28ish, so I thought it was great value...looking forward to Kratos owning some of those bad boys!!!

Try pasting it into another application. I had issues where it was adding a 'space' character to the end of any cut and pastes!

Who told you this wasn't officially being released here?

The incompetent buffons running SCEE may not have announced it yet but such a hugely popular title is bound to get an official release in the UK next year. SCEE are already strongly hinting on their official blog that GOW Collection for Europe will be announced soon, along with standard and collector's editions of part 3.

Why the inept morons who run SCEE haven't announced it already remains a mystery though.

I decided to order NCAA Basketball 10 from Axel after the recommendations in this thread. Sadly, I'm not very impressed so far. After saying it's usually dispatched in 0-3 days, it's taken a week for them to check stock only to find today that it's not in stock, so needs to be backordered.

Wish I'd stuck with VG+ and I've had got it by now.
