Cheapest place for Assassins Creed II?

Now that we have MW2 out of the way the next biggie is AC2. Anyone know where the cheapest deal is or if there is any rumours of another price war?

Re: Cheapest place for Assassins Creed II?

There's promo material out saying £34.71 in Asda

Assassins Creed 2 (PS3) £34.71 @ ASDA - HotUKDeals Forum

It's at least £34.99 everywhere online but there might be Quidco, loyalty card points, discount vouchers etc you can apply.

Rumour: Morrisons might do for 25 quid on PS3 on release day.

Re: Cheapest place for Assassins Creed II?

Was waiting for this thread. Looking forward to AC II. Was gonna order it from Gameplay for £39.99 as they have the special edition with the extra mission, plus there's a possibility they'll deliver it a day early.

Anywhere much cheaper for the special edition?

Re: Cheapest place for Assassins Creed II?

According to the valve l4d2 website Left 4 Dead it's "coming to Xbox 360 and PC on 17th Nov"

Maybe that's just the US release date?

Its the US release date.

I am hoping somewhere does a deal on this, as I want the game, but am more after L4D2 (so hoping somewhere does a deal on that too).

It seems (so far!) that the supermarket price wars are only based on multi-platform games, fifa, IL2, MW2 etc. I'd be suprised if L4D2 receives the same treatment, this being the reason why i have cancelled my Play.com £39.99 pre-order for AC2 in the hope of another price war....

In the words of Harry Hill....

Is anywhere still doing the Black Edition? Play were doing it but it seems they've ceased doing so.

Re: Cheapest place for Assassins Creed II?

The 'Black Edition' is an exclusive to Play in the UK. I got an email from them the other day saying they've removed it from the site due to its limited availability. Then I cancelled my pre-order because paying £69.99 for a game is ridiculous anyway.

GAME have a 'White Edition' as an exclusive that also includes a figure.

Wonder if they'll bring it back like HMV did with the NV goggles version of MW2

Re: Cheapest place for Assassins Creed II?

It seems the White Edition from HMV for £59.99 is nothing more then the special edition, which includes a bonus mission, and the figurine. Gameplay.co.uk are doing the special edition for £39.99, so you're paying £20 for a figurine. It seems the White Edition is a far cry from the Black Edition which Play.com were doing.

Maybe you won't even have to wait that long.

I think with the run up to Xmas the supermarkets will be doing plenty of loss leaders on games to get people in the store during this prime retail period.

Re: Cheapest place for Assassins Creed II?

I'm hoping for a decent price at Sainsburys. I have my £3 off voucher from the purchase of MW2 plus the mother-in-law gets 15% off as staff discount as well. Fingers crossed.

Very rarely do I buy games on release but there appear to be some great deals out there at the moment.

i will be chancing it on release day. The deals seem to be too good on release day. Anything above £26 is to any expensive now for me to buy a game. (how spoilt am i?)

Unfortunately it will be £37 at Sainburys. The cheapest I could find was Coolshop at £35.
