True widescreen GC??

Hi,

I have a GC with Burnout 2 & Soul Calibur 2. I have them set on widescreen, but they don't appear as widescreen? My tv does not automatically switch to widescreen? The only game that did was Shenmue on the DC. Advice please!

Strange. I have Eternal Darkness and when set to w/s it displays as widescreen and looks great.

It'll only switch to widescreen automatically if your console is connected using a RGB scart cable.

Maybe you're using zoom widescreen mode, instead of smart or wide mode which I use. Zoom mode should only be used for non-anamorphic games, since I know that SCII is anamorphic for sure.

Mine is connected with the official RGB lead & doesn't switch automatically - I just assumed the console doesn't send the w/s signal?

My Sat box & DVD player switch the TV ok.

I manually change the TV if using w/s.

Can anyone confirm if the GC should send a w/s signal.

My copy of F-Zero GX (and other games) definately switches to widescreen.

Try plugging your GCN into the scart that's currently used by the DVD player and see if that works.
