Thanks: Gave 48, Got 43 | Is the gamecube destined to be the next Dreamcast.
Looking at the impending release schedule for the gamecube. Yep non existant, play asia have one forthcoming release Radio Allergy a shooter, so does this mean that the cube will now become the next dreamcast with sperodical shooter releases and can it now be classes as retro.

Well seeing as the sucessor to the GC has been out for 8 months, then yes I suppose it is retro.
There was no sucessor to the DC, so i'm not sure about your analogy.

The Gamecube faced an uphill struggle the last couple of years. It's no surpirise that now the Wii is selling like hot cakes that developers(including Nintendo) have abandoned the Gamecube and are now concentrating on the Wii instead.
At least we're seeing alot more third party support appearing on the Wii console after seeing the massive sales figures.

It already has! another console that died before it realised it's full potential, when you come to sell one the joypads are worth more each than the console itself, obviously due to the fact that they are usable on the wii, still a bit silly though eh?

Still have the Gamecube hooked up to the bedroom tv(via ropey old composite video now ), although it very rarely get's switched on TBH, just the odd occasion my gf decides to play Tetris Worlds or whatever it's called.

I bought my first GC only 18 months ago and then a second one, this time used, with the digital AV port. Both cost me less than the GC component cable I won on eBay and I got that at a very decent price compared to some auctions I'd taken part in earlier.
I'm slowly working my way through my dozen GC games. Those 12 were the only ones I was ever interested in which is why I never bought into the system earlier. I've now got a great GC set up including a GBA player which, games included, cost me just over £200. Best gaming investment since I picked up two new fully boxed DCs + 6 games from GAME for £90 when they were selling off their stock.

Is it worth grabbing a GBA player for the GC?
Any really good unmissable GBA games?
I've had a GC for a few weeks and am enjoying a good blast on a few games - looks nice in pearl white
Tried Wii and a few others, but am an old school 'arcader
Flashy graphics don't do it for me, so its fine at the mo'
I'm not the greatest gamer going and only get an hour here and there so Lego Star Wars and a couple of other games will keep me going for a while ... got stuck at Weekend on LSW at the pod race and left it after a dozen tries!!
Cheers
Lighty

Advance Wars and the Fire Emblem series are the ones I was interested in and recommended in most 'best' GBA lists. But there's not that much point in the GC GBA player unless you desperately want to play them on a large screen. What with the DS being backwards compatible and old GBAs selling for less than £20 it's not worth the expenditure.

Shame there's nothing of that calibre on the DS

The 100% b/c on the Wii just killed it dead. I used to keep my GC around for a blast on RE4 from time to time, but in the end I just gave it away, sold all the games and rebought RE4 for the PS2.
