Thanks: Gave 67, Got 62 | Semi-Rare Game - To Sell or Not To Sell?
I managed to get hold of 2 UK PAL copies of Lego Star Wars 2 for GameCube for around £20 each. Both new and sealed.
Currently they go for around £40+ on eBay.
Are they likely to rise in value, or is it worth me just selling them now?

Maybe hang on - they will most likely go up especially if they remain sealed. May take a few years though.

Amazon still sell them new for £25 but time may well be your friend with them. It's hard to tell these days how rare titles will be in the future. Hind sight showed that quality games like radiant silvergun increased in value since its release but that is a game that was only released in Japan and only for the sega saturn. A lot of games today are released in every region and on every single format and so their exclusivity is greatly reduced. Games are always worth keeping if only for the memories. I have kept pretty much every game I have owed since I was eight (started out on a NES) and do occasionally play some of the better retro games. I'm sure that if you keep them long enough then they will certainly increase in value ........ by how much is anyones guess.

games tent to get to a certain value and stay there
i got a couple of old snes titles, chrono trigger for example has sold in mint condition for about 3-4 years now at the same value
if it does rise, i think it wont go too mad... sell it now

I'd be tempted to sell while they're a good price.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I didn't realise it was still in stock anywhere. I swear I checked a day or so before I posted this thread and it was out everywhere.
I'll put it on eBay now then and see what happens.

I'll buy one of you save all the fees and wait, alternatively you could tell me where you got them for £20

dvdcrave still have PAL Lego Star Wars 2 for £16.12(I think £17.92 inc. postage), they're based in Australia but are very good & pretty fast postage. Also under the import tax limit so risk free http://www.dvdcrave.com/products/product.jsp?pid=27679

Cheers for the info Tetlee. Created new account and placed order this morning. I had never heard of this site before but at that price, compared to everyones favourite auction site it has to be worth a go. Had seen this game for £24.99 on Amazon on Saturday night, when I went back on to order on Sunday it had gone.

Lego Star Wars 2 only had a limited print run, and is very difficult to get now. dVdraves and the other are actually resealed as they need to but their warning certificates on them. If you had a true Nintendo sealed PAL version it would be worth keeping, if not best to sell as i cannot see it rising that much more in value, especially while it was limited it did acheive a global release and is also available on NTSC format.

Currently lowest price on Amazon is £34.99 through marketplace sellers...
I take it the that the Austrailian version will work on a UK Wii?

[EDIT]Having said that I've heard of a few people having issues with certain Gamecube games bought in the UK that are not running on their Wii's so I better not guarantee you it'll work.

Game turned up in the post this morning (posted 1st March from Australia). Other than being resealed, is as new. After a few minutes on it earlier it looks like a really good game. Shame it was only a limited production run on GC. Fingers crossed it will play on a Wii when eventually get one.
Thanks once again Tetlee for the info.
