Should i get Resi 4 or wait for 360 resi 5?

I've read all about how good resi 4 is on the GC, so i was thinking about getting it for my Wii.

However i'll also need a controller and a memory card, in total it's gonna cost about £40-£50 ish.

(Resi 4 £25, Controller £15, Mem Card £5)

So with Resi 5 only 2 month away on 360 should i wait for that (HD & 5.1) or is Resi 4 THAT good?

Allo,

First things first, Resi Evil 5 WONT be out anytime soon, maybe the end of 2007 but even thats unlikely. And secondly, get your shoes on and go get Resi 4, its one of my fav games of all time and well worth the investment. Happy gaming.

Not at all. I would pick up resi 0 and resi 1(remake), both great games.

There are no guarantees that RE5 is going to be good*. However RE4 was widely regarded as one of the best games of 2005. A must have.

*However, I'm hoping it will be great!

Re: Should i get Resi 4 or wait for 360 resi 5?

You must get Resi 4, well worth the investment & at least the controller & memory card can be used for other Gamecube/VC(controller only here) games.

Resident Evil 4 is certainly one of those games that well & truly lives up to the hype it received, I honestly can't recommend it enough.

Resi 5 is rumoured to have now slipped into 2008 so a long wait for that one, but TBH even if it was being released next month I'd still recommend you get Resi 4 first. It still looks great even after playing 360 games and shouldn't be missed!

Re: Should i get Resi 4 or wait for 360 resi 5?

I am a hardcore resident evil Fan and I am just playing through all the games again on the cube. the resident evil 1 remake is amazing !!! If I was you I would buy resident evil 1 and then play resident evil 4 just after that.

I plan on playing every resident evil game that has been made and about the time I get half way through them resident evil 5 will be out and I can just add that to the need to be played section.

I'm sure that Resi 5 on the 360 is still along while off, but then again even if it was out in a couple of months I'd recommend that you pick up Resi 4 it's a hell of a game with some great graphics and sounds/music and don't worry it has plenty of scares in it

Re: Should i get Resi 4 or wait for 360 resi 5?

Another Resi 4 fan here. I'd definitely recommend it; it redefined the Resi series - no loading times while doors opened or you descended staircases, no awful camera angles and unforgiving control system (although, doubtless, these only added to the tension of the experience).

When this game came out I was so impressed. Capcom were puching the Cube like nothing else had in quite a while. I thought other developers would folow their lead but, sadly, they didn't, and Gamecube's new lease of life was short-lived. Believe the hype, though, this is a tremendous game.

The game is not as unforgiving with ammo and health as previous instalments and you can upgrade weapons at certain points. However, this is balanced out with plenty of enemies who want to tear (or chainsaw) your head off and there are some typically fantastic bosses. Replay value is high as you can start a new game with all the weapons and ammo with which you ended your first run-through. Also, there're two unlockable games once you've finished: Ada's mission and Mercenaries, both of which unlock extra weapons in the main game.

If the only Resi game you've played is the original PS version, you should treat yourself with the remake on the Cube. You'll be amazed. And the prequel ain't too shabby either.

Not sure where you heard that. RE5 will not be out this year, let alone in 2 months.

RE4 is one of the few games that can be genuinely described as a classic. Do not miss it.

RE4 on the gamecube is pretty fantastic. Regardless of any other game in the series, it is a class title in it's own right.

Resi 4 was pretty good, but I must admit that although I got it when it came out in the US, I never got round to finishing it (got just over half way through). That's just me though, it's a good game and certainly worth getting if you are a fan of the genre.

Re: Should i get Resi 4 or wait for 360 resi 5?

Resi 4 is the best game released in the past couple of years without question. I have played almost every big release on every format and resi 4 is the one that hooked me completely until I finished it. The game is just class from start to finish. The opening level is enough to hook you....when the bell tolls it will surprise you!!

In your opinion perhaps. I thought it was a good (well the half of it that I ended up playing), very polished game, but personally it's not the best game i've played in the past couple of years.

I'd rate games like Zelda TTP, Test Drive Unlimited, Oblivion and Gears of War above Resi 4.

That's the thing with games though, it's all personal opinion and I would never say that any one game is the best game released as my views are only valid for me. Naturally there are games that are well produced and games that are poorly produced and Resi 4 is certainly a very well produced game.

Very true! As much as I'm enjoying GoW at the moment(helped alot by live play both multi & co-op), it doesn't come close to the mighty Resi 4 for me.

Personally I'd class Resi 4 as one of my favourite games of all time, probably one of the only recent(ish) games that would appear in my all time top 10.
