Any Gamecube owners out there??

I am interested in getting a US gamecube and want to know if I can get an s-video lead for it??

Does anyone know the price in the US at the moment??

Check out the following link LikSang They sell an S-video cable for the gamecube and it is only 2.05 UKpounds. They will charge about 12 quid for shipping, which is a bit heavy, but to soften the blow I ordered mine with an extra controller too.

I shall be interested to see if anybody knows of a cheaper place to order, however LikSang have always provided an excellent service with the half dozen or so orders I have made with them.

A word of warning though, don't be tempted by the speedy UPS shipping option. A friend and I have both had awful experiences with UPS. As it turned out, it would have been quicker if we had plumped for standard airmail!!

You can also use your N64 or even SNES AV lead with your Gamecube. Exactly the same connector. S-Video editions are a bit hard to track down (try small game shops) but they make quite a difference, even on the lowly SNES.

Is there anywhere else for importing the GC?
Shipping (UPS) $46.00 (~31.53 GBP) from Lik Sang is
a bit too harsh.

And did anyone have trouble with customs?

You most likely will get hit by customs if you order from Lik-Sang. Both my friend and I did for the tune of about £50.

Other place to try would be DVD Box Office They are Canadian based and it works out a little less than Lik-Sang. I would suggest mailing them 1st to check on stock/availability as the Cubes seem to be selling pretty well over the Atlantic. You are still most likely get customs charges, I imagine that would be the case wherever you order from though.

DVD box office have always offered me a good service, I have ordered many DVD and games from them. On the downside, they are sometimes a little slow to process an order and there is no way to check stock availability from their website. But seeing as I got Super Monkey Ball for £29 and Luigi's Mansion for £33, I shan't complain too loudly and don't mind waiting that extra time.

Almost forgot!

If you order from box office, do the transaction in Canadian $ rather than US as it is a better conversion rate just now.

e.g.

Game cube price = $349.95 Canadian = £151.52
or $233.30 US = £161.31

I got these figures from the Financial Times currency convertor on their .web site , quite handy for all you importers out there.

Are they out of business or something, it says the service has been turned off for this domain.

Also, the DVD Box Office unit wont have the JAP/US switch or step down convertor will it?

Good point, it won't have region switch or step down, didn't think of that one.
