Gamecube plays DVD's (belongs in here)

Originally posted under video games in AV food, really belongs in here, so:

Here's something which may be of interest I got in my email:

Following up its announcement last week about research into a blue laser-based DVD format, Panasonic's parent company Matsu****a has revealed that it will be launching a version of Nintendo's new console, the GameCube, with DVD playing abilities. As GameCube games come on discs smaller than regular DVDs, Matsu****a's new machine, currently code-named 'Q', will be designed to accommodate both sizes of disc, and will include all the necessary hardware and software to play DVDs. Due for launch in Japan this December, Matsu****a has not yet announced whether it has any plans to release the machine in the US or Europe.

Hope that was an interesting waste of 20 seconds for you.
