Everything or NOthing glitch, Gamecube ?

Hi I just imported this from the states, and it appears that either there is a hlitch or I am missing something.

In the training mode after the title sequence you go into a room with three training robots. First you have to crouch, then you have to lock on and fire, then the third exercise it asks you to use the directional stick to remain locked on and retarget move from target to target. I do this and nothing happens. I can then shoot two of the bots but not the third in the middle (hiding behind a box). And I am just stuck there.

Anyone else playing this?
