Mini DVDs

Can anyone recommend any cheap mini DVDs from ebay that work well in a chipped gamecube, not asking for any piracy advice or anything like that, just disks that work.

Re: Mini DVDs

Are they the same discs as 8cm dvd's like you get for camcorders etc?

In which case,

Verbatim
Panasonic
Maxell

TDK OK as well.

they cost more but you will next to no coasters.

Stay away from Datawrite and Tuff Disc. Balls.

I doubt your thread will get much more discussion, next time just dont mention anything about illegal ANYTHING!

Just ask for "best mini/8cm dvds!!

Re: Mini DVDs

Here is all of SVP's selection.

8cm DVDR/RW/RAM - Blank DVDR - Consumables - Technology - 1 of 1 - SVP

These are who I would recommend buying from.

The Maxells look like a good price if you need 100 @18p each.

Maxell Branded 1.4GB 8cm DVD-R (Pack of 100) - SVP

Buying cheap media just for backups of your original as long as you have a good recent burner is still a option to consider to save money.

As if it degrades over time (and I am talking years unless its Princo) then you can easily just backup again to a new disk.

But saying that Ritek G04's are pretty good media dye, not fantastic, but definitely one of the dyes to consider for cheaper burns.

I have DVD backups made with Ritek G03's and these have lasted 5 years with no problems and still going strong.

Re: Mini DVDs

Gamecubes are really fussy though. And I can't make a backup as it's Twilight Princess I want to play and it took me so long to trach it down amazon had to do a special order just for me that took 6 weeks, so I've kept it sealed, but I need to play it!

Thanks for the links, will check some out, only need about 5 or 10 disks anyway.

Re: Mini DVDs

I purchased a pack of 4 mini DVD-R's from poundland and they work great. They are branded with the name Signalex.

I was very surprised that they actually worked on the cube as the only media I could get working was the Ritek G04.
