I had this 'problem' too. I'm pretty sure the Cube component lead doesn't carry sound - I hope you didn't chuck away the other cable that came with the Cube! Just connect the other cable aswell (you can connect that one and the component one in the back) and run it through to your TV or AV receiver etc and you'll be fine.

This is going from memory. If you're still having problems post some more details and I'll check my setup when I get home and try to advise from there.

EDIT - Oh, re-reading your post it seems you already set this up. Hmm, well I'll shut up now.

I take it you don't have an AV receiver you could stick the audio into? That's the way I have it set up.

I'll check my set-up tonight. Have you tried going into the console options and looking at the audio settings?

The only setting that I could find in the console's option screen
was Stearo / Mono ! !
I would have throught that you would have the same sort
of settings like my PS2 have got ? ?

If there is more settings how do you get to them

Can't say any more till I'm at home. In the meantime hopefully someone who knows what they're on about will come on here and put us both out of our misery!

Is there more that one set of audio inputs on your TV?
i.e. you are using the audio connection that relates to the same component (av) input.

Nike

The audio inputs are next to the Component input , so
must be the ones
I also have 3 inputs in front of Tv , which the 3 original leads Yellow Video & Red/White Audio they work fine

What you are saying the audio inputs may not be the ones that
work with the component lead ? ?
I need to look at the manual

I think i know what your problem is, if memory serves me correctly your tv has the component jacks on the back but has no audio inputs on the tv for it (unless the tv has built in DD ??), yes this sounds stupid but i suspect toshiba expected someone who is using a AV product via the component connection would be using a seperate amp/receiver (or using the inbuilt DD if the tv has it via a optical connection). The tv's fixed audio "outputs" are located next to the component inputs and thats your problem, they are not actually inputs they are the tv's fixed audio outputs.
I know this is the case on one toshiba tv and i think it's the one you have, just to be sure try the cable that you got packaged with the GC in the front composite input to make sure the cables audio is actually working. If this is the case your buggered until you get your amp

I know that some Tosh TVs are able to use the sound from one of the normal scart inputs at the same time as the component video. It might be worth borrowing a scart to phono converter and see if one of the scart inputs work. (i guess its not AV3 or whatever inputs are on the front of the Tv as you have already tried that right?)

Liam.

check that its plugged in right on the cube - I've often had issues with the sound cable not being shoved in all the way.
