Hi I live In Germany and want to set up a UK e mail address and a UK telephone numer with VOIP. Anyone recommend a reliable provider? At the moment I have an Aol account in Germany and no Voip set up on my laptop.

I'm also in Germany, for the past 9 years...

For various family reasons I use Skype, with a London-based Skype-In number. It works very well for my non-Skyped family members to make cheap-ish 'local' calls and reach me in Germany (or wherever I happen to be). For my family members that are also on Skype, we use video calls. I know many people don't like Skype, but I find it suits my requirements perfectly.

For email, I currently have a googlemail address...why do you specifically need an email address with a .co.uk domain?

Hi could you tell me which provider you got the number from and how you set this all up? As for the email domain it is only for contact to the likes of SKY who will only let you use their services in the UK.

The Skype-in number is provided by Skype themselves. Setup is online and very easy: Online number SkypeIn - Skype personal internet number

For email, I am not sure Sky can determine your geographical location from your email address, especially if you use a service like Gmail or Hotmail. If it worries you, a quick google for "free UK email" threw up a whole bunch of possibilities.

BTW, I also have Sky, and I've never felt the need to contact them for anything in the whole time I've been here
