Help with VOIP --> BT LINE

Hi,

I am looking at installing a VOIP system (I think) to a house.

Basically a rebuilt house with CAT5 installed to every room for computer network, and office.

There is no telephone sockets in the room, and I would like to distribute telephone calls via the CAT5. All the ports run back to a wall cabinet and terminate in a patch panel.

I would like to be able to connect to 3 telephone lines (Fax / work / personal) and distribute them to the phones in the house via a PoE switch.

I am not looking for internet based calling.

However the bit I am missing is the device to distribute the calls and connect to the BT lines and to control the IP Phones.

Any one have any suggestions on a system that I can install to do this - I am not after a fall blown telephone system, some people have recommend Astrix on a server, but I was after a "black box" solution.

Many thanks

Avaya Quick edition is quite a cool set up, but i think they are thinking of ending its manufacture so you might get them cheap.

All of the phones hold the configuration so there is no need for a central box and if one fails the others keep running

It is mainly VOIP but you can get analogue modules to plug in to it.

Siemens BizIP is a funky little box but i dont think that has analogue just ISDN and SIP

If you have a spare PC then I would highly recommend you look at trixboxCE. Fonality trixbox CE, an Asterisk-based PBX Phone System (formerly Asterisk@Home) | trixbox and look for the community edition. I have installed it at work and we are in the process of migrating to it.
