Faxing over the internet

Not VoIP but this seemed to be the most appropriate subforum.....

Anyone know any decent fax over internet services? Something like send an email with attachment (word doc or image) to the service and have it resent as a fax to a regular machine.

I had a look on Google but all the ones I saw seem to be monthly subscription based, I just want to send the occasional fax now and then and I'm happy to pay per page. Not worried about receiving faxes.

Will often be faxing stuff like bank details so it needs to be reputable.

Most services, like eFax do hook you in on a monthly basis.
If you only send faxes occasionally, why not use your computer and a phone line?

Re: Faxing over the internet

Do a Google search for "fax over internet" and a number of commercial and apparently free services are listed.

Re: Faxing over the internet

Or use PAMFax (skype) to send out faxes via Word and use Efax to receive faxes via email (which is free).

Re: Faxing over the internet

faxfiend seems to charge $1 and efax only has a trial.

Are there still any free services about?
