Voipfone Questions

Does anyone here use Voipfone or have any experience of using it either good or bad.

I'm going to be changing to Virgin Media on one of their bundles (TV, Broadband and landline), but also want to have Voipfone for my small business so I was wondering what I need to set it all up on Voipfone, for example router, handset etc.

Re: Voipfone Questions

Just looked at the Voipfone prices = not cheap!
I use BT and get.
Free 24/7 Local and National calls
Free 24/7 International calls (International Freedom)
Free 0845 & 0870 numbers
Mobiles = 7.5p per minute
For £16.20/month and an extra £4.89 for the international freedom (call Ireland, Australia and Gibraltar a lot).

I am NOT saying BT is the cheapest but it does suit my needs as I work from home.

Re: Voipfone Questions

Thanks for the reply.

We are currently with BT and have BT Broadband and it keeps kicking out. plus it's costing the same for both, as it would to have the TV, Broadband and Landline bundle from Virgin.

The broadband is on a landline in what was my old office, until it was turned back into a bedroom.

We've also got a normal landline, which is the main number, and extra cost so looking for ways to save money hence looking at the VOIP option.

The main number will be the one with the Virgin on, and the line upstairs will be disconnect.

Re: Voipfone Questions

Just looked at VoipCheap they look good.

Can I ask why you don't use them for incoming calls?

Re: Voipfone Questions

Been with voipfone for 3-4 years now. Always good connections and call quality but now quite expensive. I also use Localphone which has cheaper prices, but the connections/quality are not as good.

Re: Voipfone Questions

Looking at heading the way of VoipCheap instead if VoipFone.

So what equipment do I need, one thing is I would rather have a handset then a headset.

Re: Voipfone Questions

You should just need a VOIP phone (like a Linksys SPA941/2 or Siemens VOIP Dect) or an adaptor like a Linksys PAP2T - virtually any SIP compliant equipment would do it.

Re: Voipfone Questions

If your going to use voip for buisness. I would recommend voipfone as call quality is excellent, ihave been using it for about 3 years now they also have the virtual pbx allowing calling call q and divert etc. I have used other voip and find call quality not so good. Simple setup is linksys spa942 and thats it.
