How do I set up my phone line?

Hi guys.

I'm just getting to the end of building my house and I've run 2 Cat5e cables and a standard phone cable from each room back to a central point in a cupboard.

I've got an idea how to set up my internet i.e. broadband line into router, then into switch then distibuted via a patch panel.

What I'm struggling with is how to set up the main phone line for voice calls? Can anyone offer any advice on this?

Thanks in advance.

Re: How do I set up my phone line?

If your router has external ports, connect your Voip device to your Router (Nic in port) and the phone connections to a single point (ie BT phone socket). Now connect Voip box to your BT socket (phone line port)... Voila

If your router only has the one external port and your having to use a switch then as above but use the switches ext ports in replace of routers
