My stepson is in the army based in germany at the mo and to speak with him is costing a fortune as it has to be done through mobiles !!

Now someone has said about Skype phones as he has an internet connection .

But i know nothing about it !!

he has a wired internet only so from a quick read i take it would need a usb phone but we have wireless router so could maybe have a wifi phone ????

Anyone know more that could help please

Hi Shane

In order to skype, you will both need a PC with Skype installed, and some way of talking and listening. This is most commonly done with a headset, or a USB Skype headset.

And from then on, all calls from Skype to skype are free. The wired/wi-fi doesn't make a difference, as long as both the computers can get on the internet.

yes, both of you have pc, and download skype in your computer. talk on skype is free of cost. this is the best choice.
