Panasonic Plasma in main room , Sony Bravia in extension at back of house and both received good signals inc HD freeview until last week .
Replaced the Plasma with a different model and retuned no probs , however the Bravia in the back room no longer receives the HD freeview channels , retuned several time but not there , any suggestions ?

The Bravia receives signal from main room via an amp booster ( 1 in 2 out 9db gain ) which has never let us down , there are no HDMI leads connected to the tv.

*Just had a further look and found the HD channels listed in the guide at 801 onwards but no pic when selected .

Just unplugged the lead out of the amp booster and connected direct to wall socket in main room and that allowed all channels to be tuned to the Bravia in backroom , so I spose that points to the booster as when I reconnect as before the HD channels are still showing but barely a picture and amost total breakup , now showing the correct positions ( 50-54 ) .
Is it worth upgrading the signal booster and what to ?

Played around at back of Bravia with aerial lead and hey presto good pic and resumption of HD channels , fingers crossed .

If you've been through digital switchover you may not a booster (power output is 10 times greater which equates to around 9-10db, quite likely a similar increase to your booster was giving) and a passive splitter may be better (and save a little bit of electricity!).

Can't you just bypass the booster?

Go over those aerial plug connections again ... sounds like one was loose / poorly terminated and the problem may come back unless you've done more than "played around". How to wire a Belling-Lee connector

Even the best passive 2-way splitter will drop signal by around 4dB, but there'll be no additional amplifier noise to degrade the signal. A typical amplifier may consume around 25-30 units of electricity each year (left on 24/365), so it may be worth considering going that route?
