My Humax 9150T which keeps restarting, i tried the update and it finds one but it fails with an error message when it tried to download, do you think the box is broken or could it be the old software the is causing the problem.

If it is broken (its out of warranty) is the Humax PVR9300T a better box?

Before you depart, three things.

One, the Humax warranty is 2 years so it may still be within guarantee. You will need a receipt unless the box was first sold under 2 years ago in which case you may be able to blag it.

Second, you do not say at what stage or when it restarts. If it boots up fully, works and reboots at random, you may want to try a factory reset. You can download a copy of the instruction book from the Humax web site if you have mislaid your original and do not know how to do thisl. The software update should then work.


Third. have you tried Humax customer support as they have a pretty good knowledge of their boxes and from what I could hear actually have them set up so they can walk you through solutions.

Thanks, i did that and it has worked, it now doesn't shut down but i have lost my patience with it, it seems to miss recordings occasionally and recent retunes have left channels out of place and and the only fix is a factory reset, this means me having to put all the recording schedule back in every time I do this (a total pain in the ****)

I bought another freeview twin tuner with inbuilt upscaling that connects via HDMI, the difference in picture quality is amazing and is as good as viewing SD on to my Foxsat box.
