text on screen problems

text on screen problems

The set is a Bush 26" A series used in the bedroom, when using the built in freeview just lately text appears on the screen,subtitles if you like,try as I might I have been unable to get rid of this irritating text,can see nowhere in the menu to stop it,and although there is a subtitles button on the remote tht doesnt turn it off either ...thought I knew my way round these modern tellies but this one has so far got me beat please can anyone help ?

Is there no reset or first time installation setting that would resolve the problem? Or possibly the remote isn't fully functioning - perhaps the battreries require changing.

Many thanks for replying I did go back to doing a brand new installation process and for the moment anyway it seems to have worked,although the subtitles did flash up for a brief instance,just once ...I made sure that subtitles shouldnt be shown, will know more later if its done the job....
