Lost Freeview Channels, Only Receive Radio Stations

I moved to a new house about 3 months ago and have been using Freeview fine receiving all the channels without any signal issues until suddenly yesterday i was receiving no signal on my downstairs freeview box as well as my inbuilt Samsung TV freeview.

I have attempted to re scan and now i can only pickup 17 radio stations. I have gone through the process of clearing the channels and then re scanning but have had no luck. Yesterday the Samsung was receiving a bad BBC picture but today nothing.

The aerial is located in the roof and the house is only six years old so i would of thought it was fairly modern. I live in South West Wiltshire so i assume i would be connecting to the mendip transmitter.

I have read lots of advice but nothing has worked so i wonder if anyone else can shed any light on this topic? I am due to check the aerial tonight and im desperate because top gear is on tonight.

I checked the aerial and its managed slide down the 40cm pole and was hanging off by its wire.

I think I'd call that a diagnosis of the problem

Good luck with the repair.

FWIW I think Top gear is repeated a few times elsewhere during the week.
