Loss of BBC Channels

Hi all, first post so forgive me if this has been dealt with before. For the last few weeks my Philips Freeview box has been losing BBC channels. It appears to be an auto channel update which triggers this. I've tried a full factory reset which hasnt worked, and checked for software updates. This is also happening on a cheapo Curtis box my wife bought for the bedroom.

Any ideas???

Philips make many freeview boxes.

Curtis I have never heard of.

Lacking information.

Which transmitter receiving from - or where you live.

Try turning off the auto channel update.

Are the missing channels appearing in the 800 range?

Philips have also sent updates OTA for two of their STBs fairly recently although non are currently scheduled.

more detail, ok! its a Philips DTR 220 box. I'm in Preston in Lancs but not sure which transmitter. cant see a turn off auto update on the menu, and the channels have gone to the 800's.

sorry for the vague first post, you guys are obviously a bit more advanced than me. cheers for the help!

That is one of the boxes that Philips have sent new updated software for.
So if your box wasn't on (or on standby) when this OTA update was sent your box will not have it. I don't use Philips equipment so no idea of the number or what it was for. It will most likely be repeated so keep a check on this website for details:

http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/download_schedule.php

You are probably using the Winter Hill transmitter on which the BBC has changed Mux frequencies.

Try deleting all channels from the box by doing an autoscan with no aerial connected to delete all info from the STB tuner.

To avoid channels being placed in the 800s do a manual scan for freeview stations on main channels 56, 62, 63, 66 and 68. This should correctly assign all BBCA channels in the correct order.

You've obviously not looked very hard!

It is under Search for Channel, Channel Search Settings !

The problem will disappear with DSO 2 next week.
