Freeview: Slight picture "skips"??

Hi all

Just wonder if this is just me or if anyone else has noticed this:

Every now and again, the picture on say either BBC1/ITV1 etc seems to slightly "skip" or "jump" - what I mean by this is it looks like a frame has been dropped or something every now and again.

I've noticed this on a couple of different tv's using different freeview boxes. I also have a good signal and decent aerial and rarely experience any other form of picture break up etc....

So, has anyone else notice this or know what I mean???

I've experienced this too - it only happens rarely and it can be any channel.

Up to now I hadn't thought to mention it, so I'm pleased someone else has noticed too

Yeah it's not that often, but, I suppose I have noticed it slightly more just recently...

Not that it's really that distracting - I guess many people wouldn't even notice this at all - it's just that I've never heard anyone mention this either, hence why I thought I would bring the subject up to see if anyone else notices!!!!

My girlfriend's freeview box (I think it's an Alba) does it all the time, it's quite annoying! Never experienced it on my BT Vision box though.

I think impulse interference would be the most likely explanation... if it is the same from a variety of receiving gear and channels... on the same aerial.

[Caused typically by Fridge / Heating thermostat switching / passing cars / Mobiles etc ]

I presume you do not mean those 'next programme coming up'' interjections that the BBC commonly do across the closing titles of programmes.

The machine they use to do this is evidently not master synced to the previous output and so this often produces what looks like a dropped frame.

I'm not aware of other channels doing this - so obviously that could not account for this issue except on BBC channels.
