freeview +

Hi,
I'm thinking about getting rid of my sky+ and getting freeview+. At the moment the sky runs through a splitter to two other rooms with remote control links in each room. Can anyone tell me if this can be done with freeview +?

Many thanks,

Neil.

If the freeview+ box incoporates a modulator you can send the video in the same way as a Skybox. If not you will need to add an external modulator. If you want to use skylink/magic eyes you will need a power supply and a box that turns the remote control signals over the coax back to infra red. Both available from here

Do you know which freeview boxes come with modulator?

Thanks,
Neil.

The only two I can definetely say do is the Humax 9200 and the Topfield 5800. Pretty sure the Humax 9150 and 9300 don't but I could be wrong., an external one is not that expensive anyway.

eg

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but is this the same as the Magic Eye in another room?

I have Sky+ with a Magic Eye in the bedroom and was thinking about changing to Freeview+ too, and always wondered if the cabling for the Magic Eye could be used to get the Freeview signal up in the bedroom?

Yes it is skylink and magic eyes are just different names for the same system.
