Have become a bit disallusioned with Sky to be honest and have decided to go Freeview, for a while at least.
Also (stupid question alert), can the freeview box just be connected to the existing Dish cables rather than an aerial?
Thanks for any advice. |
To answer your last question first -
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Sorry to shout, but Freeview requires a connection to a terrestrial aerial, not a satellite dish.
If you do have an aerial then what you call a a Freeview box with a hard drive could be what we call a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) or a DVD/HDD recorder with inbuilt Freeview tuner. I would suggest you do a bit more research before putting any money down - but the Alba ALDTR150 or Hitachi HDR163 PVRs on
this Argos web-page are both (just) under £100.
