Unhappy Sony RDR-HXD1070 looses channel 5 after switching off

Has any body else had this problem? Following the retune on 30th September my RDR-HXD1070 finds Channel 5 OK but looses it when the unit is switched off. All other devices in the house have found and retained Channel 5 including my Sony Bravia TV which is serially connected to this unit. I've tried a factory reset and rerun the Initial Setup but still no luck.

Now mysteriously sorted. I did a hard reset to factory defaults as shown in the instruction manual, however this did not fix the problem. 24 hours later I switched the unit on again to have another go and it had lost ALL channel information. After running through the setup again the unit is now retaining all channels including 5!

Perhaps you remembered to SAVE the found channels the second time.

Some machines save channels automatically - others give you the option to save the results. I think my Sony Bravia TV requires you to save the autoscan results.

You could also have a machine with a faulty tuner if it can't hold the channels after powering off.
