Hi,

Looking to sort my parents out with a Freeview+ recorder and am torn between the HUMAX PVR 9300T and the TVonics DTR-Z500.

I think I will plump for the Humax as it features HDMI upscaling. My question is - They currently have a Philips 37PF9986 which features a DVI-I port on the back. I'm led to believe this will only allow video and not sound through the port and that audio has to be delivered by other means. So,

a) Will this set up work and would it be better than the TVonics system ? and
b) How do I go about connecting the audio element if I go for the Humax ?
