Adding a booster?

Hi all

I want to get freeview in the bedroom as the indoor aireal i tried doesnt recieve much. I have freeview downstairs in the living room at the moment. I have been reading the forums and belive it is best to get the booster/splitter as close to the aireal as possible but my cable runs down the roof and down the wall into the front room.

As that is the closest point i can get the splitter will it be ok to have it behind the tv were the cable comes in and then run a cable from there up to the bedroom?

Thanks

Re: Adding a booster?

If your signal strength is very good you can spilt it wherever is neatest. If you split it outdoors make sure you get an outdoor splitter.

Re: Adding a booster?

As mentioned without knowing signal strength it's impossible to say. If you use a splitter get a good quality one such as "Antiference" Many of the cheap ones are simple resistor based with high losses. Nothing lost in trying one.
If it doesn't work then you need a distribution amp (Maplin/Argos etc) downstairs where the aerial comes in. Remember you are not after amplifying the signal as such, you just want a low gain distribution amp.
