Loss of tv signal upstairs

Hi,

My setup is that my aerial is connected to a labgear signal booster in the loft, and then straight downstairs to my living room. A connection then comes off the wire in the living room, and goes back up to the loft, where it is fed into a Televes 7 Way UHF/VHF Amplifier Return Path (Televes 5372 - 7 Way UHF/VHF Amplifier Return Path). This then distributes the signal to each room upstairs.

The problem is, that I have lost all signal to upstairs. The signal is still fine downstairs (so it is not the aerial or labgear booster). The only thing that I can think it is, is the Televes amplifier, but it lights up and shows a green light and is not very old. Would this be the result of it failing, or would I still get a weak picture in the upstairs rooms.

I just wanted to check before spending out £40 on a new Televes amplifier and fitting it - and then finding out it wasn't the cause.

Thanks,

G

It's more likely a faulty connector. Try connecting the aerial directly to the dis amp to see if the amp still works. If you don't use the return to pass any extra channels back to the loft you could use a splitter to feed both off the launch amp or use another output on the dis amp to feed downstairs

Re: Loss of tv signal upstairs

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried what you suggested, and connected the aerial direct into the dis amp, and still get no signal to any of the rooms upstairs. I guess the dis amp must have failed? Was just surprised to see its power light come on as normal etc.

Thanks

There is evidence from other users recently that there is some [ surprising] silicon sophistication in these units, and that they can respond to a reset... so it it is certainly worth a try.

Remove the power from the amp for a few minutes then try again.
