Aerial Booster

I have a question,

I have got an indoor freeview aerial which has a poor reception. I would have got an extension cable to connect it from our only aerial port downstairs to my tv upstairs however we are not allowed to do that. Would getting an aerial booster make a difference?

I was also looking at the idea of AV senders. Would I need some sort of digibox to transmit the signal? Basically I want to get a signal from the rooftop aerial without having to use an extension cable straight to my tv upstairs. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

AV senders don't send an aerial signal they retransmit the output of a tuner to a remote TV. For examply you could connect a freeview box downstairs to the aerial and send the pictures from this using an AV sender to the TV upstairs

Re: Aerial Booster

Ok, I managed to convince our student union to use extension cables earlier today. I went to Argos to purchase a 25m extension kit. However they didn't have any instore so erroneously I got the 15m kit and a 10m extension cable. When setting this up in series the signal was poor. However when I moved the tv downstairs to test the 15m cable, I got the basic freeview channels I longed for however I couldn't get certain channels from Mux C and D from my nearest transmitter. Can I return both cables and get the 25m kit with no splits when they get them in stock? Will an aerial booster make any difference?
