Labgear Handylink loft aerial amp problems

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with my aerial amp/splitter, and I'm really hoping one of the nice people here might be able to help.

When we moved into our house, there was already a Labgear Handylink 4 Digital aerial amp in the loft, with plates in a variety of rooms.

The previous owners of the house were using it to pump Sky throughout the house, and it seemed to work just fine. As we don't have a Sky subscription, I'm trying to use it for standard UHF signals.

For some reason, though, only the living room plate is providing a suitable picture - perfect in fact, while all other plates are unwatchably poor (even using a booster within the room).

Is there something silly that I'm missing? Would removing the redundant Sky cable from the back of the Labgear make a difference? Is the Labgear intended only for Sky use? From what I can tell, the device we have is the forerunner to the HDU range.

Thank you very much for your help

You need to stick the terrestrial aerial into the cable that used to come out of the sky box. You might need a splitter to feed your existing TV and the link back to the loft.

Re: Labgear Handylink loft aerial amp problems

Fantastic - thanks for the advice, Graham.

Apologies for being a complete noob on this, but can I just clarify that you mean sticking the terrestrial cable in the back of the Labgear where the Sky cable used to go?
