Panasonic TX-L32S10L and FTA (Freeview) (njf)

I am in the Republic of Ireland and want to get a Panasonic TX-L32S10L, which will allow me to get HD FTA (FreeView) TV. I intend to get a Ferguson HD receiver.

I also want to get terrestrial stations. What is the best aerial to get for RTE 1 & 2, TV3 and TG4.

I am new here so I hope this request is OK.

Thanks.

The Panasonic TV you intend to buy will get you FREESAT (inc HD) via satellite
freesat - HDTV - HD is...bright and beautiful

Which Ferguson receiver do you intend to get?

There are no HD Freeview (terrestrial) transmissions nor, of course, receivers on sale in the UK.
AFAIK the situation is the same in the Republic.

The type of aerial installation you require for reception of the digital terrestrial transmissions of RTE 1 & 2, TV3 and TG4 depends on your area

Re: Panasonic TX-L32S10L and FTA (Freeview) (njf)

Fernandez,

Many thanks for your reply.

It is the first reply I received from AVForums.

I am pleased you consider the TV I am thinking adequate. You have given me confidence to buy it.

I do not know which Ferguson receiver I will get. At present I have a Ferguson FX 6600CR (1 CR), which I will transfer to a bedroom; the quote I have only mentioned a "new Ferguson HD receiver". Would you pleasae suggest what type I should ask for?

Since about 1982 I have had a terrestrial (ie ordinary) aerial on my roof and have been able to get some Irish channels. The quote I have mentions "our RTE terrestrial aerials are the new digital ceretified aerials as RTE will start transmitting in digital within a year or so hopefully". The person who emailed me the quote, in reply to a phone call, seems competent. However I hope to get another person to call to me to see my actual set-up.

What I want is do is to transfer my Ferguson receiver to a bedroom and get a new HD satellite receiver, and buy two TV sets, one the Panasonic TX-L32S10L mentioned and the other a 19" HD ready TV, possibly a Grundig or a Toshiba, as I have seen these reasonably priced.

Do my ideas make sense? Please give my your views. I do not wnat to pay for TV reception and I want the system I get to last.

Once again,

many thanks.

Regards,

Noeljfitz.
