Just installed Freesat

All

Just a very quick question

I intalled a Freesat dish and Humax HDR at the weekend for my Dad.

I used one of the cheap Konig sat signal meters to align the dish

Having installed the box, under diagnotics I see we are getting 90% signal strength and 100% sig quality (on both tuners).

Is this fairly normal, should I be able to tweak the dish to get 100% signal also?

The house/dish is in a rural area in north Bristol.

The two meters you can invoke pressing 'i' when watching channels are always in the green area.

Can I rest easy in the knowledge I've got the dish fairly spot on?

Thanks

D

If you see no pixelation or picture breakup, you're fine.

All boxes give different results for signal tests, but as long as the bars are steady and stay in the green then the dish is set up fine. Your father should now have endless joy with all the extra channels you have got for him!

That will be fine. Each station will vary in S/S/Quality but this will give no problems.

Thanks everyone

Just wanted to be sure I had it right for the old fella

The BBC HD and Dolby digital is great, makes my freesat pvr seem a bit cheap now!

Re: Just installed Freesat

You mean FreeVIEW PVR? There only is one Freesat PVR and your father has it, so it can't make yours look cheap as it could only possibly be the same model!

Re: Just installed Freesat

I did indeed mean freeview pvr (Daewoo) sorry.

Now I need to find a universal remote with large/clear buttons for him and he'll be set!

Thought about getting one of these for my 87 year old grandfather, but was worried he might wrap it round my head for being cheeky!
