My question is: Bearing in mind that I only have a single feed from the dish, can I plumb the old Pace digibox and viewing card into my current set up so that I can still get the free-to-view channels (e.g. Sky 3) which are not available on the official Freesat but are available via the Sky free service?
If so, how would I connect the Pace box up to my current set up?

It's possible but not very convenient. You need to fit an a-b switch to the loop connection on the foxsat. One like this
AB Switch ManualĀ*
Using this you can divert the second tuner connection to the skybox.
You then need to turn off power saving in sby on the foxsat to allow the sky box to control the lnb.
With the stb on and the switch sending the signal to the sky box the foxsat can only record 1 channel and the sky box can only get channels in the same group as the foxsat tuner 1 is using (The channels indicated as being available to record using tuner 2 on my spreadsheet). With the foxsat off the sky box will function normally.
