Sky and Freesat in a flat?

I have just purchased a Panasonic G10 with built-in freesat.

I presently subscribe to SKY and would like to keep this subscription live for Sports viewing.

However, I would also like to make use of the freesat channels available if and when something catches my eye (I'm guessing the Masters coverage last night would have been good viewing on BBC HD).

I am unable to run a second cable from my SKY dish as I live in a flat and share a communal dish.

What are my options, if any? I have been directed to this link (LNB switch amplifier polariser adapter) which may present a solution but I'm unsure if this will solve my problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated?!

From the link you give this item should solve your problem

Jaeger Smart Priority LNB Switch

Allows you to use either one of two satellite TV receivers with only on LNB (dish) connection. Example: Connect a Freesat box as master and a Sky Digibox as slave. (The Sky box leaves the LNB powered all the time, so can't be connected as master.) When the Freesat box is in standby, the Sky box takes over. Can also be used with an analogue or Digital FTA satellite TV receiver.

Does the TV turn off lnb power when not tuned to DSAT as it needs to update EPG etc? If it doesn't this would not work, the only certain item to work would be a manual lnb A/B switch such as here (scroll down slightly)

Re: Sky and Freesat in a flat?

I honestly dont have a clue whether the TV turns off when not tuned in.

Do you think the manual switch will do the trick?

I have tried a basic 2-way splitter (2-Way Satellite Splitter > Maplin) given to me by a friend but unfortunatley this doesnt work - the signal only works through the power pass out.

Re: Sky and Freesat in a flat?

What about this http://www.globalinvacom.com/products/pdfs/SCR_iss3.pdf

This will give you 4 feeds from 1 cable, most commonally used for sky+ in a flat where there is only 1 feed from the outlet plate, works simular to a stacker-destacker, if intrested in an installation Give us a Call Thanks Kieran
