Re: Freesat with Sky box

Welcome

I assume you want Freesat HD since there are no channels via a Freesat box that you can not already watch via the SKY hardware.

If you are looking to reduce your SKY sub by using Freesat hardware then yes you would need the Freesat PVR as the SKY+ only records from it's internal tuners (same for Freesat and Freeview PVR's). If you want to add a Freesat box then I assume you have a Quad LNB and are using 3 of the 4 feeds, you would need to add the fourth feed for a single tuner Freesat box.

Re: Freesat with Sky box

Thanks for the awesomely quick reply i must admit i thought i would have to shell out for a Freesat box, if i get the Humax Foxsat-HDR can i connect the standard Sky box that i use in another room as Multiroom to it or would i have to get 2 Freesat boxes. I am not concerned with having HD in the other room as i only have a normal CRT TV in there.
Cheers

Re: Freesat with Sky box

The Humax would need two LNB feeds for full functionality so it's a straight swap for the existing SKY+, you can then leave the SKY digibox as is meaning you won't be paying SKY for anything or replace it with a Freesat single tuner box.
