Humax Fosat HDR

Has the Humax Fosat HDR had a software upgrade since it was launched and does anyone know whether one is planned?
I phoned the Humax "helpdesk" last week regarding the box switching of playback when the recording has ended, in "chase play".
The guy said "Current technology I'm afraid" and after I put the phone down, I wondered if a software upgrade would
fix.
Does anyone know?

Don't think you mean chase play, chase play is when you select a recording already in progress from the media list. This works fine, the problem you have is watching the programme from the recording buffer rather than actually chase playbacking the actual recording

Thanks for the expanation Graham. Playing from the buffer was mentioned, but I did not see the distinction.
Do you know if Foxsat HDR has had a software upgrade since it was launched?

Most boxes will have 1.02 as that's the latest actually transmitted. Some early boxes installed with a single cable will have 1.01 (which allows deleting while recording) as a bug meant you could not upgrade on a single cable. Newer boxes I believe have 1.03 but that's never been an over the air upgrade. New firmware is expected sometime (hopefully soon but no firm dates yet). The loss of the buffer and inability to record from the buffer start is hopefully one bug that the new firmware will fix. In the meantime to watch in chasing playback simply watch the recording. It's very convenient for ITV as you can use the foreward/back skip buttons to cut out the ads. Yoi can often start watching an ITV recording about 15mins late and finish watching about the same time as the programme finishes.
